Riding Directions

Proceed south, left, out of the parking area down Old Hwy 14 for 1 1/2 miles. At the intersection of Old Belle Road/McGuigan turn right. Proceed 8 miles along the pasteur banked road. At Hwy 85 turn left and proceed 2 miles toward the town of Belle Fourche. At Hwy 34, turn left. The road is somewhat flat with light grades. The first 'sprint' of course comes at the border of Wyoming, 10 miles from Belle Fourche. Once in Wyoming the grades increase slightly with some big rollers into the town of Aladdin some 5 miles into Wyoming. One mile east of Aladdin is the Aladdin Tipple, an 1880's coal mine. The Aladdin store is a good stop for water and snacks.

Just up from the Aladdin Store turn left on Hwy 111 and follow it to the 'Beulah Road' and I-90 for 10 miles. Hwy 111 has some long gradual grades, and a nice drop down toward I-90. Turn left on the 'Beulah Road'. Approximately a mile up the road and three from Beulah is a historic buffalo jump a quick stop to take a peak is encouraged and highly recommended.

Continuing along the 'Beulah Road' you will crest several long rollers flanked by grass pasteurs and red cliffs. The road will take you past the town of Beulah, and your last chance at a glass of Fat Tire Amber Ale. About 5 miles will bring you to the second time bonus sprint along a long flat stretch at the border of South Dakota. The only markation of the spot is the pavement change and #0 mile marker. Ten more miles along steeper rollers brings you back under I-90 and onto Old Hwy 14. A long straight away takes you past McGuigan Road/Old Belle Road and Valley Corner. Supper at 'Guads' is a fine finish to this ride.

  • Approximately 50 miles
